Motown legends Rare Earth and Detroit sensation the Howling Diablos come to Chelsea!
Chelsea’s Sounds & Sights Kicks Off 5th Season
Every Thursday from June 25-September 3, 2009 from 6:30 til 8:30 p.m.
See a great lineup of musical acts, children's entertainers,
and other artists performing at separate staged areas
in walkable downtown Chelsea, Michigan.
Music Lineup
Musical acts from across the spectrum - folk, bluegrass, Celtic, jazz, classical, country, Latin and more - perform at as many as a dozen different downtown stages. Catch a local favorite like the North Creek Fiddlers at the corner, then wander down the street and settle in for a set with folk singer Matt Watroba. This year's headliners include Bill Bynum, Five Miles More, Kitty Donohoe and the Royal Garden Trio.
Activities and Attractions
But sounds are only half of the story. Kids crowd around face painters, jugglers, magicians and balloon artists. New this year is the Chelsea Sculpture Walk featuring 10 juried art piece located around the downtown area. Downtown restaurants, galleries and stores stay open late during the summer series, adding to the energy and ambiance. Also new is the free outdoor movie series shown at dusk in the Clocktower Complex, sponsored by SRSLYchelsea.org.
